I first heard Mark Talbot at the 2005 Desiring God Conference, Suffering and the Sovereignty of God, and was blown away with his personal understanding and articulation of the sovereignty of God.
This four minute video provides a great introduction into why Mark Talbot was invited to speak at Desiring God’s disability conference The Works of God: God’s Good Design in Disability. I hope you will consider joining us to hear directly from Dr. Talbot.
Thank you to Justin Taylor who posted this interview last week at his blog.
Isn’t it fascinating that we hear all about the “Works of God” and we hear all about how Christ can “do” nothing he hasn’t seen The Father “do” … isn’t it strange that Christ had soo much trouble with the pharisees and sadducees telling him not to “do” this and not “do” that on the Sabbath… which is exactly what Satan wants you to “do”… is to NOT “do”…..
Isn’t it interesting that repentance requires “do”-ing what ever you can “do” to recompense those you have trespassed against in “do”-ing your sin….
Yes faith without works is truly dead!
Now how is it that one of the three tenants of Christianity is that we are only to have faith but our “works” are not required by God for our salvation.
Even Christ said he came to “do” the will of The Father and not his own… he didn’t come to say Lord Lord… I believe…. he came to show us how to “do” the feeding of the sheep… and through this we would be with him.
Now how is it a Mormon like me understands this and those who profess we are not Christians but a cult don’t understand this simple point.
You can have no understanding if this one escapes you. This one is too easy!
