Pastor John ruined our Thursday morning.
In a good way!
He sent the link for the video below, which I watched early Thursday morning. I told Dianne she needed to watch it, so we did so together. Then, as the children got up, they all watched it as well.
We are not a well-oiled machine to begin with, but we generally know we have to keep moving to get everyone where they need to be. Taking out 30 minutes from our routine basically meant we were in a mad scramble the rest of the morning!
Yet, not a complaint could be found; we were all pretty happy.
This is what ruined our morning:
What is it in our hearts that wants to know others understand, that we aren’t alone, that there are people who don’t just live a life of disability, but live THIS life of disability?
From the moment I saw this dad lift his son and guide him to the center of stage – I’ve lifted Paul like that, with his elbows close in to the body! That little cane with the marshmallow tip – Paul had one of those for years! That little hand making sure his dad was near – that’s what Paul does! The finger flicking, the rocking while he sang, the thumb and fingers around his chin and neck – Paul does that!
The unselfconscious singing.
Even his dad admitting he might not be able to keep his composure!
Yes, it was sweet.
God is good.
And this is still my favorite ‘catch’ of Paul singing!
That’s beautiful.
And so much moreso knowing that one day he will see Him high and lifted up, shining in the light of His glory.
I almost posted this video in a comment yesterday. My sister sent it to me. In reply, I sent her a video of Paul. God really is good. 🙂
This video was soo…. pure and unadulterated. The way he sang, he wasn’t performing he was simply praising. I cried. This is the way we should be worshiping our God.
Amen!
Wow. Beautiful and powerful, John. Thanks brother!

Oh my . . . I thinking that just as the Lord was so pleased with with the gift widow’s two copper coins, so must the sound of this singing make his heart especially glad.
Reblogged this on .
What else is there to say to that, but :).
“What is it in our hearts that wants to know others understand, that we aren’t alone, that there are people who don’t just live a life of disability, but live THIS life of disability?” This is true of all of us! How wonderful that you received this encouragement this morning!

I wanted to let you know how extremely encouraging your blog has been for us. We have a 5yo who developed a seizure disorder after a fall off a wall 2yrs ago. Finally after 10 months, much toil and stress on our other 5 children, and Mayo in Rochester, his seizures are under control. He still has social delays and behavior issues and we’re not sure of the extent of the brain damage. Through this we thank God for you and the words that you encourage us with. Your blog is my homepage, and my husband reads every day as well. The Lord has really used you greatly in our life and our family. THANK YOU for sharing your life and testimony.
May the Lord continue to shine his Grace on and through you.
