A friend of mine who is experiencing some very deep waters because of disability in his family sent me some prayer requests in an email earlier this week. It included this:
That I would genuinely grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus through this particular season (vs. just enduring it), and that as a result I might become an increasingly worshipful and loving servant leader in our home
I read this and just worshipped God for the extraordinary grace that poured through the computer screen and over my heart as I read it.
His child is already complicated, and new circumstances have only increased the complications.
Yet he wants more of Jesus, and not just for himself, but for the sake of his behavior towards his family.
Thank you, my friend, for encouraging me to want more of Jesus in every season!
Thanks for the encouragement to worship our good & faithful Lord at all times…Even when the worship is full of sadness & tears. I needed that reminder!
Yet another post to greatly encourage me! Mr. Knight, I must tell you that since I found your blog at the beginning of the year it has been a DAILY blessing. I made it my home page so it’s the first thing I see because it ministers so much to my spirit and touches my soul with truth. Briefly, our 4yo son suddenly started having seizures 1yr ago and it has turned our family of 8 up side down. Finally, after going to Mayo 4 weeks ago we hope we have found some relief for him.
We are still adjusting to the reality of living with a child with a disability . . . and your blog has greatly helped. I was wondering if you ever address family issues? How to help siblings cope? As a parent how to not feel like you’re neglecting your other children? etc. Thank you so much for your blog. I really appreciate you.
