Today is Krista Horning’s birthday!
In addition to being the author of Just the Way I Am: God’s Good Design in Disability, Krista has been a long-time volunteer at Bethlehem. If memory serves correctly, she was probably about 12 when she started volunteering, including serving as an aide for my Paul for several years. When her book was still just in the concept phase, she and her dad were visiting Sunday School classes to talk about disability and God’s good design.
In other words, she has not wasted her young life! And I expect God will continue to give her opportunities to make much of him in the coming years.
Thank you, Lord, for Krista, and for bringing her to Bethlehem! We have been deeply blessed by your sovereign grace on her life, by your strengthening her parents to persevere through much hardship, and in how you are shaping her younger sister and brother.
The Works of God 
Greetings in Jesus’ Name- the Strong Tower into which His Chosen flee. I am a cancer survivor, bladder cancer. After nearly 20 years of continuous treatment, even when the doctors were recommending bladder removal, the Lord graciously intervened and gave me a verse: 2 Chronicles 16.8 – the multitudes of the enemy were the disease and He conquered for me and gave me victory.
Since then, I have learned about the Ph (acid vs sweetness) of the human body chemistry. I heard that cancer cannot survive in a sweet Ph system and I learned from a friend whose friend had cured himself of stomach cancer by drinking four each 8 ounce glasses of distilled (not tap because of chlorine, etc.) water each containing one teaspoon of baking soda about 20 minutes before meals and one about 2 hours after a meal. After four or five months the cancer disappeared. I know our faith and trust in God is most important, but He has also the means to cure us through His creation…. foods and not chemicals. Anyway, I believe He has excellent solutions for our ailments and however He leads, He honors obedience. Thank you for sharing publicly. I have a sister who during birth, the doctor damaged her un-protected brain with an istrument leaving her mentally retarded for life. She is a music genius and can play piano, accordian, harmonica with any tune she can hum. So God in His excellent goodness protects and even the worst the enemy offers He has promised He will change to good.
