I believe people with disabilities especially mental and physical ones (like my son) seem to have a far greater understanding of our God than we do. Therefore, they by knowing more about him definitely desire him even more.
John, I am also the father of a special needs child. Jake is 16 and is severely mentally disabled. I have been at my breaking point more than once over the past 16 years. The past two years have been the worst. I stumbled upon your blog through the tweets of Pastor Piper. Through your blog you have shown me that this truly is a calling from God and not a burden. May God be glorified in the lives of our children! You have inspired me to create a blog for this purpose. I someday hope to write a book on this great adventure. I cannot tell you how this has helped my perspective. Thanks to you and your family.
