Is it possible to see God as good in the midst of disability?
Bob Horning has parented a wonderful young woman with disabilities for 22 years, and says with confidence that Jesus is good and glorious in the midst of very hard things.
It is a message I have heard him communicate consistently for 10 years; Bob (and his wife, Mary) is the real deal. And not only has he seen God’s goodness, he encourages others in the faith. Bob is one of the great blessings God has provided to the church, and I count him as both a friend and a mentor in this journey with my own children.
Hear or watch him for yourself as he opens last weekend’s breakfast for fathers of children with disabilities with his testimony.

Thank you for posting on my blog. You are such a blessing. I have a lot to learn from God especially since He uses families like yours to speak to me. I am dealing with learning disabilities like dyslexia and possible a form of autism..not sure. I will have to wait for my daughter to be tested to find out. Anyway, I am blessed. And thank you for reminding me that God made my daughter how she is…like the fighter verses we learned about a month ago “My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret”. God knew us and formed us and knew the numbers of our days and how we would look, act, and be. It was not hidden from God. “How precious are your thoughts Oh God! How vast is the sum of them. If I were to count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you”. It’s so wonderful to know that God never leaves us and that He knows us so well.
Thanks for pointing me to Bob’s video. I was so blessed by his testimony.
My love for the Hornings increases with every opportunity I have to be with them or hear their hearts as I did listening to Bob today.
